Don’t Look Back
This morning I got up and went to my studio, ready to get come things done. I immediately realized I needed to pick up a few items at the store before starting, so I went out and started my truck, and then came back inside to brush my teeth and grab my coat. Just as I was closing the door behind me to leave, I heard my truck (her name is Stella), sputter and choke out. I had ran out of gas at my own house!

In the short period of time that I've been painting (1 year), almost every friend I have has asked me how I decide what to start with when I go to my studio to paint. Looking back, I've given a different answer to each of them every single time they've asked, but really it was the same answer. While the circumstances may have varied, the overwhelming common denominator to all of my answers was: "I start with what moves me right now".
